Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Tally (“Tally,” “we,” “us”) — operated by
Tally Applications, LLC — collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Tally is a
nutrition and calorie tracking app. We built it to be private by design: your food diary is yours,
and we never sell your data or use it for advertising.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. Your email address (used to sign you in and contact you), a unique
account ID, and the date your account was created.
- Subscription & billing. We do not collect or store your full card number — our
payment processors do that securely. We keep a payment-processor customer ID, your subscription
status, your plan, and trial/renewal dates so the app knows whether your access is active.
- Your food & health data. The foods you log (name, brand, calories, protein, fat,
carbs, fiber, portion, meal, and date), your profile (sex, birth date, height, weight, goal weight,
activity level, and your calorie/macro targets), your weigh-ins, and any meals or recipes you save.
- Content you submit to AI features. When you use search, the photo logger, or voice logging,
the text you type, the photos you take, or the audio you record are sent to our AI providers (see
“Service providers”) to generate an estimate. This content is processed to produce your result; it
is not used to identify you.
- Automatically collected data. Standard technical data needed to operate the service (for
example, your device making requests to our servers). We do not use third-party advertising
or analytics trackers, and we do not use an advertising identifier.
2. How we use your information
- To provide and operate the app, including computing your personalized calorie and macro targets.
- To back up your diary and sync it across your devices.
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To process your subscription and trial through our payment providers.
- To respond to support requests and to comply with legal obligations.
3. What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not use your nutrition or body data for advertising or marketing.
4. Service providers
We use trusted third parties to operate Tally. They process data only on our behalf, to provide
their service, under their own terms:
- Supabase — account sign-in and database storage.
- Cloudflare — hosting and backend infrastructure.
- Stripe — payment processing for web subscriptions.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing if you subscribe inside our mobile app.
- Resend — sends your sign-in code and account emails (e.g. trial reminders).
- Google (Gemini) and OpenAI — process the food descriptions, photos, and voice recordings
you submit to generate nutrition estimates.
5. Data storage & security
Your data is stored on Supabase and Cloudflare infrastructure, encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at
rest, with access limited to operating the service. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure,
but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
6. Data retention
We keep your account and diary data while your account is active. You can export your data at any time
from within the app, and you can request deletion (see below).
7. Your rights & choices
- Access & export. The app lets you export all of your data at any time.
- Deletion. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within
the app (Profile → Delete account), or follow the steps on our
account deletion page. You can also request deletion by
contacting us at support@tallyapplications.com.
- Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR, California under the CCPA/CPRA, or
Washington under the My Health My Data Act), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or
restrict the processing of your data, and to not have it sold (we do not sell it). To exercise any of
these, contact us at the email above.
8. Health data
Nutrition and body metrics are sensitive. We handle them only to run the app for you, and never for
advertising. If we later integrate Apple Health or Google Health Connect, we will do so only with your
explicit permission and in line with their requirements.
9. Children
Tally is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do
not knowingly collect their personal information.
10. International users
Tally is operated from the United States, and your information may be processed there.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and,
where appropriate, notify you.
